ALLOGGIO PANTHEON - Rome Pantheon, a/c, internet ADSL, apartment rental

Just returned from a Roman Holiday with kids - we all fell in love with this charming apartment. Tucked away blocks from crowded Pantheon and Piazza Navonna, the place felt secure and peaceful: a grocery store downstairs, a local bar across the street for morning cappuccino, fresh squeezed juice and panini, a wine store and a pharmacy around the corner. My son (8 years old) was fascinated with many keys/locks and a small elevator. Because of its central location, we could come back for a short rest in the afternoon and venture to Fontan De Trevi (my kids most favorite landmark) late at night. We loved living in this apartment, and it was much cheaper and provided so much more flexibility over hotel stay. Apartment is very clean and functional. The kitchen is tiny – I would not attempt to cook, but we used plates and utensils, and kept cheeses in the fridge. Bathroom has a good size shower and plenty of towels. Bedroom is large and has air-conditioning unit, radiators (water heat) throughout the apartment – gets quite chilly in November. Bed and sofa-bed are large and comfortable. We also paid for Internet (extra 3 euro/day) and well worth it, as we were able to call home and research our day trips & restaurants. The check-in was smooth and Pino, who is a wonderful host, let us drop our luggage and pick up keys early @ 10:00. Pino, who is fluent with English (a huge plus!), has offered prompt communication through e-mail and was readily reachable by SMS/mobile. He even offered taxi service, but we felt that official Rome taxi is safe and cheap (fixed price 40 euro to/from airport). Use taxi stop on Piazza Navonna - we also used them to reach Vatican Museum (no crowds after 15:00!). Staying in an apartment already presumes that you know Rome, but Pino gave us many useful tips and even offered to take on a tour of Palazzo del Quirinale– an unlikely destination and a wonderful place to visit(free on Sundays, be there early to beat the crowds). Thank you, Pino, for helping to make this an unforgettable trip for my family.

We stayed here on a short trip to Rome. It's a short walk to the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navonna & Castel Sant'Angelo. Since we had a last minute change of plans, we also stayed just down the street on Vicolo della Vaccarella which was very close. In the neighborhood there are restaurants, a bank, bars and a deli. Ascancio Twentysix has air condition and a tiny elevator. The place is nice, clean and very secure. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
